Out of curiousity, has anyone running OS X 10.8 tried rEFInd 0.4.5 (the lastest version of rEFInd), which Rod Smith made in the last week or so?

Anyway, rEFInd doesn't need to work with OS X 10.8, it's an EFI program not a OS X app.

No. All Macs since 2006 have been using an Apple implementation of EFI 1.10. Firmware updates are really bug fixes which shouldn't break rEFInd.
