Refit and Refind not working

Hello everyone,

I have used bootcamp on my early 2011 mbp with 10.8.4 and I have tried installing refit and refind to not have to use option key to switch partition and neither of them work.

I installed them separately first refit to see if it worked with no results then discovered refind.

Is there any other bootloader type program that I can use?
