Hi all,

I´ve just bought an i5 iMac, and i´m trying to install windows 7 via USB.
I´ve installed refit and made my 8 GB pen drive bootable.
When i restart my computer, my usb appears as bootable, but when i select it to start windows instalation, my screen goes black and this message shows up: Insert a bootable device, and press any key.

The thing is, that 2 hours ago, i´ve installed windows 7 following the same steps on my MacBook intel core duo 2.0ghz unibody, and worked fine!

Please, can anyone help me??

Unfortunately this just confirms what I always say. USB boot may work but is never guaranteed to work for all Macs.

:(

You might be able to try one of the other approaches in the "without superdrive" thread (i.e. create an internal throwaway partition to install from).
