i deleted leopard from my macbook pro, and borrowed the set of installation disks from a friend (i lost installation disk 1). it is giving me the message "cannot install software on computer". i was wondering, if i take it to an apple store, can they reinstall leopard for me? what should i do? is there a way to make the installation cd work?

restore disks are model specific. If the ones you borrowed are from a different model to yours they will not work in your machine.

The disks you borrowed will only work on that specific model and revision. You can find some for your model/rev on ebay, or you can purchase a retail disc.

if i have apple care, will they ship me out a copy or can i do a reinstall at an apple store?

Apple will usually replace the discs for a small fee. As for the Apple store, all you can do is ask at your store, it might be up to the manager.
