Hi guys I recently received a MacBook pro 2006 early but I am having trouble reformatting this. There is no recovery partition also I do not have the password to get into mac os x. How would I be able to wipe this hd and get a fresh version of Os x? Also is snow lepard 10,6 compatible I may try to get a disk if that would help me???? Sorry if I sound dumb this is my first time venturing off into the mac world

When you say you don't have the password to get into OS X, do you mean the login password or the password that enables you to boot from another drive?

It boots up to the OS X log in screen where it prompts for a user name and password
