Unfortunately my MacBook Pro (2.8 core 2 duo,4gb,320gb) is starting to show its age a little now and i think its in need of a good refresh. Its starting to run slowly with the programs i use (Adobe Lightroom 4, Final CutPro X) and just general OS tasks seem to take a age now.
I am thinking of adding a SSD in place of my optical drive, although i know ill kick myself one day when i need to use a cd on the go. This will be to run all programs and OSX on. I will only need maybe 120Gb at the very max. I am considering the Sandisk Extreme 120GB Sata 6Gb/s 2.5" SSD drive as it seem fairly cheap and i have always been happy with Sandisk products with my camera equipment. Will this work properly with my machine?
I am presuming my current HD within the machine will be a 5200RPM drive, will i see a increase in loading times for my images within Lightroom if i add a 7200RPM drive?
I have also read that 4GB is the maximum ram that will work with my machine, is this correct?
Anything else that can be done to speed the machine up?
Cheers
Lloyd
