Refresh my memory re: preorders (Apple Store)

I haven't preordered in a couple years. I seem to recall that the Apple Store would only ship iPhones at launch to the billing address. Am I remembering that correct?

Also last year was there an option during preorder to pick up in store on launch day or was shipping the only option?

would like to know about the shipping thing to. I will be at work anytime Fedex ships so I have my shipping primary to my work address in Apple Store app?

I pre-ordered for pickup at the Apple store last year. I got to bypass the huge line and walk right in to pick up my phone. It was quite painless (other than waking up at 3:00 AM to place the order LOL)

I preordered a new iPhone a few years ago. I live in Maryland but was visiting my girl in Utah when it shipped. My shipping address was my home address in Maryland, but I spoke to a very helpful Apple customer service representative who kindly changed the shipping address while the phone was enroute. The phone got a new label slapped on it while it was on the ground in Louisville, KY. It arrived in Utah with no complications.

That being said, that may not be something to count on happening very often.

Unfortunately no Apple Store near me. hopefully they can use my shipping address as my work since I am paying full price for at&t through Apple Store app
