Currently have a 2.8 Expresscard UMBP as my main machine, and a base Rev. B Air as a secondary/work machine.

Was thinking about ditching the Air and going with another MBP as a secondary workhorse.

I can get a classic 2.5/2/250 refurb'd for $1500, or a 2.53/4/320 new expresscard UMBP for the same price.

Obviously the Uni is the better machine all around with better RAM/Graphics/etc etc but at the same time it would be nice to have one of those beautiful classic machines as I already have a UMBP, and it would of course only be a secondary machine.

Which would you go with and why?

Well I would go with the Unibody as I already have a classic that I am trying to sell so I can buy one. However if you really like the look of the classic MBP, you might as well pick it up if it suits your needs. From what I understand, the SATA controller is 1.5Gbps on the classic vs 3.0Gbps on the unibody, but depending on what you are doing that might make no difference.
