Ok so I have to options within my budget for a new MacBook. My current 2014 MacBook Air works fine but I never liked from the beginning due to several issues.

My usage:

- gaming
- travel
- photos
- web surfing

I have two choices at this point:

1) MacBook Pro 2016 15 inches (Refub) for $2000

  • 2.5 GHz quad-core i7 with Retina Display
  • Touch Bar with integrated Touch ID sensor
  • 15.4-inch (diagonal) LED-backlit display; 2880-by-1800 native resolution at 220 pixels per inch
  • 16GB of 2133MHz LPDDR3 onboard memory
  • 256GB PCIe-based onboard SSD1
  • 720p FaceTime HD Camera
  • Radeon Pro 450 with 2GB of GDDR5 memory

2. MacBook Pro 2017 13 inches (new) for $1700

  • 2.3GHz dual-core 7th-generation Intel Core i5 processor, Turbo Boost up to 3.6GHz
  • 16GB 2133MHz LPDDR3 memory
  • 256GB SSD storage
  • Intel Iris Plus Graphics 640
  • Two Thunderbolt 3 ports
  • Backlit Keyboard - US English
  • Accessory Kit
  • Force Touch trackpad

Consider both refurb to save money. 15 is more port, TB, more ram as standard, dedicated GPU (which could be good or bad based on GPU past history, and larger screen. Also weighs a pound more. I would consider finding some extra cash and go for the 512SSD. I have decided to go for the 15 Refurb with 512SSD.

I'd second this on the refurb route... also I love the 15"
