Refurb 3GS manufacture Date

I just got a replacement 3GS from the Apple store for my old phone that died. The serial number starts with 5K102. Based on the threads i've read that would indicate it was "made" the 2nd week of 2011. Does that sound right? Does this mean that it was simply re-serialized on that date since it's a refurb but it was actually made possibly months earlier?

It gave me the 2nd week of January but said it couldn't verify the year. Guess the refurb part threw it off. Thanks for the link though.
