So, Here I am again torn on what to do.
I definately want a firewire 400 port, so unfortunately the new MB is out (though if someone knows of a way around this, I'm all ears!!!:D)

I am wondering about the resale value of an onld MBP versus a new MBP in 2 years time, as well as the longevity of the machine itself... what do you guys think?

I have been changing my mind daily on which to buy, and since I need a computer for gradschool, which has already begun, I need to get moving!!! ;)

I paid $2K for my MPB 1.83 in Feb '06. I could get about $800 for it today. I think that is typical depreciation for a MBP.

The machine itself is still doing well but its sluggish with apps like CS3. I just bought a new MBP 2.4 so the 1.83 will go into backup duty for a couple of years. I plan on selling it in early '10 and expect to get about $400-500 for it. I typically buy new notebooks every 2-3 years and sell my oldest at that time as well.
