My friend wanted a MBA to replace her white macbook. I convinced her to order a refurb 13"/256GB (She doesn't store vids, much music, only data processing and word). She was so excited but then so devastated when it arrived DOA. Won't turn on at all. Charges fine but won't boot. Apple says to mail it back so they can check it out. Easier said then done in Panama.

It's rare but it happens that some units are shipped DOA. This applies to both new and refurb models. It's completely covered by warranty, so just send it back.
