My 6+ year old MBP I cracked the screen yesterday, and after finally coming to terms with what a klutz I was, I decided I'll get a new MacBook Air. (Been using the MBP with an external monitor as it still works fine, hoping to still sell it on eBay since it's still a good computer...). Anyways, I have a $100 Apple gift card, and so the $849 refurb MacBook Air would be $750 with the gift card on Apple's site. However, with the discounts out there now I could also get a new one for $799 from a retailer, and then just use the gift card for something else down the road since I don't think it expires. Thoughts/advice?

Since the Apple Gift Card doesn't expire, and although I'm a big fan of Apple refurbs, I'd go for the new $799 and save the gift card for accessories or something else down the road.
