Refurbed Iphone sale?

apple stores have a stockload of generation 1 phones that are used for repair and exchange. Will there be a sale of "refurbed" phones anytime soon? If the GPS looks as uneventful as I have read, I'm going BACK to the original. I sold my iphone a few weeks ago, before the announcement. But now with the huge increase in fees, I want to go back to the original.

Well I don't think they are gonna get rid of the stock like that because you have to remeber there are 6 million 1st gen iPhones out there if something goes wrong and Apple has to replace it. they are not replacing it with a 3G one!

1 year warranties are running out for MANY people though

agreed.
I still one to get my hands on one of those though. 15 extra dollars a month is insane for 3g

I suspect that if you go back to the old iphone that the old iphone voice/data plan will be gone. You will have to use the new data plan and pay the same amount anyway.

ATT already stated that the old iphone will still be able to activate on the old original plans.

1 year may be running out, but there is always apple care. So there will be iPhone Classics out in the wild and cover under warranty up untill about June 2010 or so. SO Apple will need plenty of iPhone Classics for repairs.

I am covered untill october of '09

As am I, since they said you can activate with the old iPhone plan. Hoping there will be more appearing not too long after the 11th. :)
