Refurbished 15" MBP only supports 4GB of RAM?

I have a question regarding the refurbished 15" MBPs.
The details page of all refurbished 15" MBPs state that they only support up to 4GB of RAM.
Is this correct or do they support more, and if they support more, how many GB do the support (6 or 8)?

Which model MacBook Pro? Do you have a link to the ones you're looking at? If its the pre-unibody ones on Apple right now that are 2.5 and 2.6GHz then they do in fact support 6Gb, but Apple only says 4.

March 2009 2.66 and 2.93 support 8 GiB.

interpreting cube's short answer the model above should support 8GB, right?
