Hi All,

I'm looking at buying the above from the Australian online store. They have only the base configuration available.

My questions are:

Has anyone in Australia bought one recently and if so did you get ay extras not listed?

Performance wise how do they fair vs the 2.8 2010 base model?

I can get the 2.8 2010 base model for $100 less so I'm curious to know if the magical turbo boost @ 3.33ghz is worth it.

All comments welcome.

I have the 2.93 quad and think its great. It will be slightly fater than the 2.8 quad 2010 but the 2010 has a better GPU (tho its only £150 from a local PC shop)

The 2.8 octo would be better for any program that need all cores so it really depends what you do. I use mine mostly for Photoshop, Logic, Maya. I could have got the 2.26 octo but it reviewed slow in photoshop and logic.

What video card do you have in yours?

If it's the GT120 how do you find it with Photoshop and iPhoto?

I have the GT120. I get on fine with it. Never use iphoto. even in Maya its fine. Running 2 22" monitors from it. Are you having trouble with yours?

I just sold a 2008 2.8 octo as the warranty was due to run out in Jan. Got $3400 for it. I still have a flashed 4890 from that machine but I'll probably sell it if the GT120 is ok.

Just pulled the trigger and bought the 2.93, hope it gets here before the weekend!
