I'd primarily use the Touch as a music player and mini computer/PDA, rather than for playing games. Having said that, would it be worth the extra money to purchase a new 3G version or just go for the refurbished 2G at a very attractive price point? Other than the increased speed, is there anything that the new generation has exclusively?

Also, I should mention that I'd be using Skype intensively (along with other non-gaming apps). Are these apps generally compatible with OS 3.1 or, if not, will they be eventually? Which mics or mic/earbuds are best with the Touch, in your experience?

I'd be using the Touch in uni a lot, which means that I'd have to connect to the wifi. But if you do so on a laptop, you come across a login screen on your browser (I can't remember the name). Will this pose a problem for the Touch's version of Safari?

Thank you
