I just saw that the Apple Store had a refurbished 15" AL Powerbook. I'm worried that the refurb will come with sratches or other problems. Anyone have any experience with Apple's refurbished products? Do they ship the refurbs in their original boxes?

Thanks,

Josh

Some people report bad experiences, I've had no problems with refurbished products from Apple. They usually come in the original packing materials or an Apple "brown box." In fact my theory is that some products sold as refurbs at the Apple online store are actually overstocks.

I bought a refurb imac G4 at the apple store about 3 weeks ago and am happy with it.
There were a few minor scratches but nothing too major.
Mine came in a brown "Apple Refurbished" Box

note that they are refurbs, not "used." so scratches are pretty rare, i'd imagine.

they are either overstocks (which would be nice because you get a brand new computer in a refurb box at a refurb price) or customer returns - and those returns must be less than 10 days old.

so chances are, they are in pretty good condition...
