Hey everyone,

I've been very antsy lately for my refurbished iPad 3rd Gen. First, the device took ages to finally be transferred to FedEx, and now it is reporting delivery beyond 2-3 day express reports.

Anyone ever bought a refurb iPad to Chicago or anywhere near?

Praying to get it as a surprise on Saturday night!

Nope. But you may want to blur out your tracking and reference numbers in that screenshot. The reference number is actually your phone number.

The reference number isn't my cell phone number, but for the sake of whoever's it is, I've blurred it out.

Anyone have a record of how their iPad navigated into the US?

Cause there not refurb there brand new a apple rep confirmed this.
I went to order refurb 64G black Verizon today, Price jumped to $779 same as in store. I ordered a white one for old price. Would be nice if it is new. Are they in white or original boxing?

That was my first thought when I saw them coming from Foxconn.

I do hope they are new, and honestly, I feel like they'll be in new packing considering apple would have nothing to do with the old boxes still listing an A5X and such.

In a shocking turn of events, my iPad skipped Anchorage and is ALREADY in Chicago! Looks like there might just be a delivery today! (fingers crossed)

@liftsifter

i'm in south shore & UPS always takes it's sweet ars time ... my mini left for delivery at 5am but i know it won't be here till 2ish ....

but anywho, to answer your question. yes, i've ordered plenty refurb stuff from apple. no problems.

here is your issue:
- you've ordered it around new apple product launch ... that's what gets priority as far as shipping
- you could have gotten it from craig's list. yes, bit of a headache, but guaranteed to still have warrantly with apple ...
and the prices are unbelievable now:
16gb 3 round $350 or less
32gb 3 4g $500 !

I cannot believe how quickly my iPad went from being in Hong Kong to my door.. Really awesome, I must say!

I'll let you all know if it's new or refurb later today.

Ordered a refurb 3, too

I debated this for over a week and finally decided to go with a refurbished black 3 with 32GB. The reviews did not make me think the upgraded 4 was worth $130. I like a good deal. :)

Can someone confirm this and/or find the original thread? I just got a 64GB Refurbed Ipad 3 and I'm getting very excited about the idea that I know may be getting a new one?

Here's the location data on mine. Is that Foxconn?

It was in a thread in here where someone had a chat with a apple sales person and they stated its the last of the iPad 3 there new in box brand new not refinished.

I can confirm these are refurbished models, not new ones. In fact, mine has a small nick in the space between the screen and aluminum.

Will you seek an exchange or keep it? Or perhaps return it and pay the difference to buy a fourth generation?

I ordered a refurb 3 to make sure I got one before the stock ran out. I'll look it over when I get it and see 4th gen. owners' reactions/reviews of theirs before deciding whether to keep it, exchange it if it has problems, or return it and pay the difference on a 4.

Wow... that's the first time I've heard anyone say they got anything but a perfect one as a refurbed. Are you keeping it?

How do you nick a space?

Apple states on their Web site that they replace both the screen and aluminum body of the refurb units. If either is damaged, I would return it.

By the way, I posting from my refurb iPad 2 that I bought back in January. I could not tell the difference from new when I received it.
