I have an iphone 5 on Sprint. Due to water damage and having applecare+, I received a refurbished phone at the Apple store. The Genius transferred the sim from my old phone to the replacement phone then called sprint to tell them about the sim switch. I assume my refurbished phone is now locked to sprint, or is there a chance it's unlocked?

There is absolutely ZERO chance that your phone is unlocked, unless you know for certain that the Genius replaced your phone with a NON-Sprint unlocked model and then forced Sprint to activate it.

Unless that happened, it's locked. You can call Sprint to have it unlocked for international use, but that's all they will do. The reason the Genius called Sprint was to have your SIM paired with the MEID on the new phone.

This is my question. Will simply inserting a T Mobile or AT&T sim into my phone let me know?
