In Apple's refurbished section, all iPod Nanos have seen a price reduction.

1GB - $109
2GB - $129
4GB - $169

Methinks that Apple is clearing out inventory for a new Nano either next week, which makes no sense, or sometime in September.

thanks for the post.
we bought a shuffle for our son last year and are pretty dissapointed with the # of available items (like alarm clock) vs the nano.
looks like we may get him a nano and pass the shuffle downhill to our daughter.

reminds me of the handymedowns that i got as a kid. uh no!

I couldn't resist. I just ordered a 2GB White. I was going to buy a new 1 GB for $129 (Edu), but instead of taking the $20 off, I got twice the capacity!

I too am fitghting the temptation, but the 4gb nano is still too small for my music collection, lets hope for an update at WWDC!

Has anyone purchased a refurb iPod. Are they scratch free?

I have (this is my second refurb), yes they are scratch free, and please search the forum. There are dozens of threads about this.

Yeah, it is better simply to buy a refurbished iPod Nano than to do the rebate, which is extremely disheartening since I recently purchased one for my girlfriend with my MacBook Pro, because one will have higher capacity for cheaper. :( :)
