iPod Refurbished iPod Nano (Current Gen) - Good or Bad Idea?

Hi,

I've never thought of buying a refurbished item before. Now however, Ive been looking into buying a refurb ipod nano (8gb).

I read Apple's "Refurb Process" page, but I was wondering what you guys have to say about it here? Has anyone here ever bought one before? What do you guys think? Are there any pros (besides price)/cons (mostly cons Im wondering about)!?

I'm usually the type of person who likes his stuff brand new and shiny, but the savings might be too good to pass up here... What do you all think?

Apple's refurbs are always a good buy. They have the same quality and warranty that band new ones do. I have even heard that the quality control on refurbs is better because the testing process is more stringent than band new products. As in brand new products are simply function checked and refurbs are checked a little more thoroughly to ensure that they are not sending a product out that is still broken.

Although, not all refurbs were broken in the first place. What happens if you buy a nano then decide to take it back for any reason other than it doesn't work? They can't resell it as new. I have heard that some refurbs are those.

I would not hesitate to buy one. So go for it!

There as good as a new one same warrenty etc. I beleave anything you come into contact with is replaced.

I just got a refurbished iPod nano in the mail yesterday, and, outside of not coming in the clear plastic case (it comes in a white cardboard box), there is no way you would know that it is refurbished.

I love Apple's refurbished products and recommend them to everyone who asks me about Apple products. Do yourself a favor and order now! (;

Definitely worth it.
I bought a refurb nano 3G, and it was as good as new, even had a brand new case on it.
I even hear that the refurbs have lower failure rates than the new ones because they are tested so much.
