refurbished M1 specs - 16gb RAM, 256 gb = $1037 (inclusive of applecare)
brand new M2 specs - 16gb RAM, 256gb = $1277(inclusive of applecare)

M1 mac mini was launched in 2020, is it still worth to get it or get the M2 given that the difference is abt $200+

M2 Mac mini is only $499. The 16GB upgrade is $180.

Where are you shopping where it's so expensive? AppleCare+ on a desktop? Heck, no.

Not everyone lives in the US...

Eg M2 mini 16Gb => NZ$1,449.00

Get the M2.
Better than that, get the M2Pro.
Buy Apple-refurbished if you can.

Forget AppleCare for the Mini... few folks will ever need it, as the Mini has proven to be the most problem-free of all Macs.

M2...

I have an M1 and I can't get iphone to work as webcam continuity via wireless, only with cable and so many other users and it's something that bothers me a lot.

But M1 have faster SSD which really make a difference when you have memory busy in full
