Refurbished Macbook air in UK

Question, I am thinking about buying a refurbished Macbook air. I wanted to know do you have to purchase the extended apple warranty when your buy the refurbished unit straight away, or can you buy it at anytime within the first year in the UK?

Yep anytime I the first year just the same as buying new.
