I am curious..I have read several posts where folks mentioned when they got their refurb units that there were extras such as more RAM, or bigger HDD. Was this not expected? When Apple lists the computers, are they listing the actual specs rather then the added specs?

Apple does list the actual specs, though sometimes the probably get their specs confused.

Just because you order a 2.7 THz i9 iBook with 2 PB RAM does not mean you get a 3.4 i11 PowerBook with 4 PB RAM all the time. It is actually rare to get a refurbished Mac with higher specs than listed.
