Well..I did it. Finally, after waiting and waiting...I gave in. Just bought a refurbished 12" 1.5Ghz Superdrive powerbook from Apple. Just one question though, are the batteries that come with these units new? Or are they just tested?

I'm really not sure but I would think that everything is tested to meet Apple's stringent quality standards. If something isn't right, then they'd replace it.

How much did you end up paying?

Total was 1,573.95 after taxes. 1499 for the powerbook, normally 1699..Not that bad.

Could have gotten it brand new from amazon for 1699-150 rebate (I think at least)...but I have never trusted rebates...

Me so jealous. Me want one so much, but me no need so me wait... for now. :(

Congrats on your purchase. The 12" PowerBook G4s are so awesome. I can't wait till next year to buy one - waiting for intel inside to appear in the PowerBook + I just shelled out some serious $$$ for my Power Mac G5. Well, enjoy your 'Book.
