The Apple refurb store seems to have dropped the original price of 2019 MBP 13 from $1799 to $1599. With a refurb discount of $240, it is now $1359. Was it also a $240 refurb discount before the 2020 MBP was released? Wondering if it is worth waiting for the 2020 models to hit the refurb store or to just purchase new.

For students there is a cheat tip: MBP 16 i7 is $2400, but for for students it is $2200. Also you can get headphones with back to school and sell it for $200. Total is $2000 before tax.
Refurbs are also about $2039.
Seems like the lowest price that Apple can go is equal to "student discount price - $200 headphones", which is also reflected in the refurb's price.
Accordingly, $1800 MBP in refurb is = $1700(student price) - $200(headphones)= $1500ish.
