Reg Hack on ipod Touch 4g

My 4g ipod touch's 'Volume Down' button randomly activates on its own. I will be listening to music and the device will just turn itself down. I might have dropped it, but never remember doing so.

Anyhow, I wanted to ask if there was a software hack I could use that would simply disable the volume button(s) and just use the software volume slider instead.
