I was reading about this product were they say its great to take on the road for hotels or what not. How do you get a wifi signal by just plugging this into a power outself am i missing something here can someone explain this part to me thanks.

You need to also plug it into a network port. Hotels that offer wired Internet usually have a modem or a network port with an RJ45 cable. So you plug one end of the cable into the modem/port and the other into the AE and the AE then makes the wired Internet connection wireless.
