Hi there!

Apple Watch 5 here and under watch setting I put mirror my iPhone for airplane mode. Once I toggle airplane mode on iPhone the watch also goes into airplane mode. However when I off airplane mode on my iPhone the watch stays in airplane mode. Is this normal? Thanks.

I have never used this feature myself, but I would imagine that it’s the way things are supposed to work.
If both the watch and iPhone are in airplane mode (which disconnects all wireless services) and the iPhone is taken out, how would it let the watch know this?
The watch being in airplane mode has no way of knowing the status of the iPhone without a wireless connection.

Yes that’s normal as the iPhone and watch loose their connection to each other. You have to take both devices out of aeroplane mode

yep, as others have said, once the watch is in airplane mode, it's stopped listening to everything, so there's no way for the phone to tell it to turn it off.

I leave the mirroring off for airplane mode, just for this reason.
I've accidentally hit it on the phone, and forgot to re-enable the watch a couple times.

This question crops up every few months. Apple should probably put some message when people toggle airplane mode.
