You might not even need one. I have 2 bluetooth devices connected at all times (MX Keys Keyboard & Trackpad 2) and occasionally my Ear Fun Free Pro earbuds and all them work fine. I don't know if I've been lucky but I've not encountered any issues with Bluetooth, the only exception being the on screen cursor which has stuck for a second or two and this has only happened a few times since I got my M1 back in December.

I picked up a wired keyboard with track pad for my initial attempt to get my
new Mini installed. Coming from a PC this should be an adventure!! Once
installed I will attempt to use my Logitech, wireless, keyboard & mouse.

Got my mac mini yesterday and se far the BT seems stable. havent had any disconnection yet.

Hi!
I've also Got my Mini M1 ( 256Go, 8Go) one month ago and it runs very well, better than my iMac 2017 ( 16 Go RAM ).
Exactly the same apps on the both. No problem at all with Bluetooth connexion.

Had zero BT issues using the Apple Trackpad and Logitech MX Keyboard for Mac but purchased the Satechi Hub for the Mini and it became a BT nightmare. Once unhooking the Satechi Hub the Bluetooth was working fine. Hub is being sent back for credit.

Strange, I've got the Satechi Hub as well and I don't know how that could cause any Bluetooth issues?

It’s a mystery to me too. Doesn’t appear to be a common issue or I would not of ordered the Satechi hub. But like I said upon disconnecting the Satechi, Bluetooth worked fine.

Just tried to use some bluetooth earbuds (Sony WF-1000XM3) for a Zoom call on my Mini and the sound was terrible. That brought me to this thread - it seems, that I am not alone. Back to a plug in headset.... Ho Hum

I might have an old bluetooth dongle tucked away somewhere.

Looking at the hub I am not surprised. It is located at the bottom of the mini and runs UBS3 electronics. Bottom of the mini (the black plastic cover) is area where wifi and BT antennas are - so you are adding effectively shield stopping the radiation - and USB3 electronics is known to interact with the frequencies around 2.4GHz used by BT/older wifi. While the Satechi hub looks great and cool, its location, shape and electronics are very likely going to cause challenges to BT/wifi.
For intel mini I would be also worried about air flow getting restricted and temperatures going up.

I've also had some bluetooth issues but I don't have a an M1 MacMini. Mine is a 2020 one. It never used to be as often as it is but now it's almost all the time. I did think it was maybe my Logi MX Keys and mouse but having read this thread perhaps not. Maybe an update from apple is needed?

Just read this thread more carefully and mine is not an M1 Mini but I am using the Satechi hub/stand. Will do some testing when I have time to see what happens if I remove it.

I was having some spotty lag issues with my Magic Trackpad until I turned off WiFi. Turned it back on and the issue reappeared.

I solved my Bluetooth issues by holding down Option and Shift keys while clicking on the Bluetooth icon in the menu bar. You will then see extra menu options and the 2 I clicked on were reset bluetooth module and factory reset all Bluetooth apple devices. Solved everything for me.

Does that unpair all Bluetooth devices from your iCloud account or just the Mac mini? Why would one need to do this on a brand new machine?

EDIT: @SpitUK Your post needs to be a sticky. I turned WiFi back on after following your suggestions and there is no more lag. Not sure why one would need to factory reset a Bluetooth module straight from the factory, but it did the trick!

Don’t know why it works to be honest. One theory I had was that my Magic Mouse and keyboard were previously connected to my Intel MacBook Pro so when talking to the M1 something was a bit off and a reset fixes it.

I've been struggling with this bluetooth issue for a while. MacOS updates, bluetooth resets, none of them worked. What DID work, however, was simply putting the mac mini on its side with the bottom facing the bluetooth devices. Apparently, the antenna is on the bottom.

I'm still going to have Apple replace the logic board, since there may be some defect in the bluetooth signal amplification. But, for the moment, this seems to be a fix for me.

No issues here.

Bluetooth Magic Keyboard and Magic Mouse 2.

One month old M1 Mac mini.

Really love the M1.

I’ve got the M1 Mac Mini sitting on top of my Satechi hub and started having some BT issues creep in. I moved my HomePod mini further away from my Mac and also my Philips Hue light hub.
BT issues disappeared.

I personally think it was the Philips Hue hub because it was sitting right next to my Mac.

Perhaps your Satechi hub was faulty ?

Mac's Bluetooth problem has become a common problem for Mac users. Which is not desirable in any way from Apple.
Last year I bought my m1 mac mini and I've struggled with my mac mini Bluetooth connectivity issue from day one, my Bluetooth connection constantly dropping day by day.
I became anxious about it, and day by day it became unbearable to me.
I was looking for a quick fix to this, then I found a solution and that is using a dongle, that's what I do. As the dongle, I picked up a Hideez dongle, and that was actually a quick solution.
Till now it's working with my mac mini with zero issues.
