Correct me if wrong, when apple switched to Intel for it's very first macbook pro. The firewire ports and all were not there untill the next revision it all were implemented ?

The first MacBook Pro only had a single Firewire 400 port, whereas the last several generations of PowerBook also had a Firewire 800 port. The Firewire 800 made its appearance on the MacBook Pro with the first major refresh about ten months after the initial launch.
