Howdy-
One or two of you may have noticed me whining in the Planet Earth thread about how badly I want to see it. Well I got the five disc set this morning, and I'm wondering how I can watch it. Here are some solutions that I've heard:
-Change Region: haven't tried, limited number of changes, last resort.
-VLC: Won't play, as I'm assuming i have a newer drive which doesn't allow 'raw access' to discs
-Handbrake: "No Valid Title Found"
-MacTheRipper: Ripped onto the HD, told me that the disc had bad sectors and would likely be unplayable. Indeed, I can't view/convert the files with Handbrake.
-DVD players in home: All set to Region 1
Any other ideas? I'd love to see it. I've heard that you can buy cheap USB region-free DVD players, and that might work. I'd also like to store it on my hard drive... Is there any way to rip it to a .mp4? And why is handbrake telling me there's no valid title found? Is it an NTSC-only program?
Merry Christmas (Happy Gift Day if you're offended by denominational greetings)
