Hello.

My macbook is in 10.14.6 security 2020-04.
I know that I can revert through time machine or CCC to a backup point. Actually I did it once successfully.

My question is if I can do a shortcut, and just reinstall 10.14.6 over my 10.14.6 (I have the 6gB installer).

Will mojave let me do it?

In that case, is it going to mess things or being a mojave to mojave it will be fine?

The point is that I want to revert Safari 12 to bring back my iOS bookmarks sync and unfortunately I have no time machine copy for that specific moment (I upgraded mojave and safari 12 to 13 at the very same time) so I should go back to High Sierra and from there there is a lot to do...

So just in case...

Thanks!

From my experience "Yes" you can rerun the install over the existing install. I do it all the time and since 10.2. I have found it "refreshes" your current install and at times fixes issue that evolve or happen by installs. But in doing so it will probably wipe the security updates. Of which I have done and do think I had to rerun the Security Updates. I can't remember. I have been fighting with Office reinstalls to a final Mōjāv on a faster, better postitioned drive. That I have the "modified" updates stashed away. BUT the OS gets severely wonky due to the updates on "our installs" and had to run Onyx right after rebooting from the security installs, each one, or the install is a mess and you can't go on. But that;s for me.

But until a "fully loaded" Patcher Installer comes about, I plan on it taking time, due to needing to run Onyx after every update reboot.
