I have an iPhone 4 with 5.1.1 installed currently and jailbreaked with Absinthe.
Cydia says "SHSH: iOS 5.1.1, 5.1.1r" and I was simply wondering if I can somehow reinstall the software without updating to iOS 6?

Thanks in advance!

I had 5.1.1 jailbroken on My 3GS, restored it to 5.1.1 before updating to iOS 6 so I don't see a problem here.

Restore from within iTunes, how else, if you have the IPSW then Option click on restore and choose the path to the IPSW.

But haven't Apple stopped signing 5.1.1? Wont I get an error even if I restore it via iTunes with an IPSW?

Just try, if it does not work it won't work.

Isn't it so that if you have 5.1.1 on the phone you can still restore to the same iOS?
And, you say you saved your Blobs, I am not familiar with that procedure but isn't it so that if you saved your blobs you can still use that iOS version.

You are right that since Apple stopped signing 5.1.1 you can no longer just restore in iTunes. A tool is in the works (probably to be released as a new version of Redsn0w) that will allow those on 5.1 and 5.1.1 with stored blobs to restore to the same version they currently have on their phones. Please note that you must not upgrade to 6.0 if you hope to use this feature; once you have upgraded to 6.0 it will be impossible to go back to 5.1.x.

Thanks! I'll wait then.

Hold on !
If it's an iPhone4 and you saved 5.1.1 hashes for either 5.1.1 version (206 or 208) you can restore now.

Stitch your 5.1.1 hashes to the 5.1.1 IPSW using Redsn0w (hash version must match IPSW version), then use Redsn0w to put your phone in pwnedDFU mode, navigate to your stitched IPSW using iTunes.

If you end up with -1 error at the conclusion, use Redsn0w or TinyUmbrella to fix recovery/kick it out of recovery.

you are right dhlizard, there are so many threads running "can i restore 5.1.1" that a lost track for a second!

After recovery fix for iPhone4 with Redsn0w, what should I do? How long should I wait ? Stuck in -1, then 31xx, or 16xx. I did so many times and about to give up. Keep end up to ios6 and want to go back my jailbreak 5.1.1 Thanks in advance.

iphone 4: After error -1, close itunes, put phone in DFU, use Redsn0w "recover fix", wait for less than 5 min, phone came back with 5.1.1 loaded!!!!:)

you can also use TinyUmbrella to kick it out of recovery.

The -1 error can be avoided bij first making a NO_BB IPSW and then stitching the blobs to that and create a second IPSW

Now with the last restore in itunes

You don't seem to know what you are talking about, stop steering people in the wrong direction when you're not even familiar with the subject.
