I am having a huge problem. 2011 6,2 MBP. My MAC can no longer recover. Trying to do a reinstall. My data is on a NAS so safe. I did the Cmd ALT R process that has worked in the past.

It asks for a network.
I enter a good Network and password.
It then has a status bar and grows to 100%.
Then I see an Apple logo with a new status bar. It grows to 100%
Then the scrn goes dark gray. And stays there. No change over time. I waited 1 hr. Just dark gray.

I tried this multiple times. Same result.

There is some misinformation. A 6,2 MBP is not a 2011, it is a 15” mid 2010 MBP that shipped with Snow Leopard (Distributed on DVD).

What happened to cause your problem?
What OS were you on before starting the restore?
What OS do you want to install?

I disabled the gpu. This was well documented by dosdude1.com. My mac is somewhat usable now. I know it is old but i like old. I hope to get some borrowed time out of it and get a new 16" when then it comes out.
