Reinstall issue

Attempt 1 reinstall el cap - couldn't sign into App Store so thought I'd try again but pull x3 spinner drives out (one with my old home directory so maybe it was getting confused). 2x wd blacks (in raid) 1x wd green

Clean install on a 2tb ssd.

Shut down - plugged the x3 spinners back in turned it back on - chime and nothing... just a black screen. I'm using a bare of card(sapphire r9 380)

What should I do?

hope this helps: i think ElCapitan does not know where to install, did you select a HD, and how far did elcappitan install go? did that install in your computer then restart? what elcap source are we using? USB? time machine?

It installed fine on my 2tb ssd. - went into the desktop, opened App Store and I was all signed in with my purchase history.

Shut down, then I insterted back into my 2010 MacPro cheese grater my 4tb raid (2xwd Black spinners) and 1x wd green spinner (with a backup of my home directory)

Restarted - chime- just a black screen.

Does it need to know about other drives on install?

what OS X was the Mac Pro running? maybe you need to build up to elcappitan.
that is the best i can do
hopefully someone else can advice soon

R9-380 does not have boot screens, so no selection of hard drive on boot.
