Heaven or Hell
my 12 month old MacBook Pro is running slow and i would like to reinstall OS X on it. I have lost the original Install disks. Can i borrow my friends brand new MacBook disks to install on my MacBook Pro ??

In other words, is there a difference between the install disks of a macbook & macbook pro ?

thanks.

They're system dependent discs. You can only use them on the hardware they came with. You might want to call up Apple and order some replacements then.

Does that mean if a friend buys a new macbook pro,
i can borrow his install disks & install them on my macbook pro ?

well, my macbook pro 15" is 12 months old....
What if my friends macbook pro 15" is brand new.
Are the install disks gonna work on mine ?

sorry to be a pain about keep writing back ; )
