I needed to reinstall SL on my MBP and now all the files that I had on my second hard drive in the optical bay are messed up. I can access all the files but the permissions to them are messed up, now there is a name called "_unkown" and my user name is no longer viewable. I can click the unlock tab and then add myself to the files but doing that one by one would take forever, Im guessing that I need to change the ownership of all the files but I know there has to be an easier way to do this. How can I fix this issues?

The problem isn't that the permissions are "messed up"; it's that you're no longer the user who owns the files, as your User ID changed in the reinstall.

If there's an option to ignore permissions, just select that.

well i did some digging and found a program called BatChmod, it went in and changed all the ownership ect.
