I'm trying to reinstall 10.6.7 on my 2011 15" MBP w/ a Micron SSD to undo the Trim Enabler hack but it says the SSD does not meet the criteria for reinstall. (I did download the early 2011 MBP version of 10.6.7)

Any idea why that may be? Has anyone successfully reapplied an update patch after applying one?

why don't you restore the original state with the Hack enabler? Much easier than trying to reinstall the whole OS.

Second, why do you use a downloaded version of the OS? Just use the CD that came with your MAC.

If I remember correctly, Trim Enabler allows you to back up the file - which I did when I had 10.6.6, but not 10.6.7. A few people here have said the new file has some drastic improvements over the previous version in 10.6.6. If I restore the original, it would be the older version, not the newer one.

The CD that came with the Mac was 10.6.5 or 10.6.6 - so too old to install.

You could use the updater to update to 10.6.7. Thats a safer bet than to use a downloadable version from other sources apart from Apple.

The .dmg file IS from Apple.com. How can I use the updater to update the OS again if it's already in 10.6.7?
