I'm trying to reinstall Garageband because when I start up the program I don't see any icons for the new projects and I get errors when trying to open previously created files or even creating new ones.

I have the application install DVD from when I bought my Macbook Pro, I recently upgraded it to Snow Leopard and am running 10.6.2

When I open the application install dvd and try to go to custom installation to install garageband, the checkbox is grayed out and I can't select Garageband to install. Any ideas on why this is happening?

Before attempting to re-install trash the com.apple.garageband.plist file in your home directory's Liibary/Preferences folder. Does that make any difference?

Mullisman, did you have any success reinstalling Garageband? I have the same problem and Queso's suggestion didn't help.

Anyone else know why Garageband is greyed out on the installation options of iLife 09 and how I can reinstall it?

Thanks.

same problem

I have the same problem, and I checked on the file you listed in the library/preferences folder and it didn't exist. Did anybody find a solution to this problem? Do I need to uninstall Garageband from my computer before it will become an option?
