Reinstalling iPhoto after accidental deletion of the app

I have no idea how, but my father-in-law (not really that good with computers) has managed to delete the iPhoto 09 app from his PowerBook. The PowerBook is running Leopard.

The library is still there, of course, but I just wanted to double check - if he reinstalls iPhoto from the iLife DVD, will it see the existing library and ask to use it, will it create a new one, or will it actually delete the existing one and create a new one?

He lives in another country so I'll have to rely on him getting it right when he reinstalls, but I wanted to check that his large library won't be deleted before he does anything.

As for how he removed the app, I have no idea.

As long as the library is in the default location it'll just use it.
