Hey, I'm in need of some help here.

My bro had a hand me down iMac that was loaded full of stuff.
Was running OS 5.6 and super slow.
I have a 5.2 grey install disk but when I put it in it says it cannot be loaded.

I went to Disk utility and erased the drive so there's nothing on it and formatted as extended journaled.

I've tried booting holding ALT
And C like it says on the disk but each time I get a message saying something along the lines of it can't be installed.

Any ideas? I'm lost.

Thank you

Those gray install disks are keys to a particular model of Mac, so if you tried to install OSX using them on a different model of Mac then it will give you an error message.

Pick up a retail copy of Leopard (or later) on ebay or the apple store, if you want snow leopard.
