I just sold my Macbook Pro Retina and I have already erased the SSD on it and now Im in the process of reinstalling Mavericks. Since it it asking for my apple ID login for the reinstall, should I be concerned since the macbook will be given to another person?

The way I did it when I sold an iMac a couple years ago was to install the OS and when it asked for the sign in, just shut the computer off.
On the next boot, the new owner will get all the welcome stuff and can set it up.

No need to be concerned at all. The AppleID just allows you to complete the download and does not tie your Mac to the AppleID.
Only issue is the new owner will not be able to reinstall the OS should they ever wish to, so they should first thing login to the App Store with their AppleID and "purchase" Mavericks.
