I want to reinstall SL. I have everything backed up by Time Machine. Will the migration assistant restore my iTunes library with play counts intact? I don't want to drag and drop the iTunes folder, have done that for years and it's left me with some glitches. I want iTunes to start clean, but keep the library structure and play counts intact.

To save play counts... in other words, to reset the trial period to zero? If so, you won't get help for that from any reputable forum.

He's talking about iTunes, which is free. He's referring to iTunes calculations of how many times a song has been played.

OP, just drag and drop the iTunes folder. Works fine, been done a million times by as many people. Just make sure it's the entire iTunes folder, not just the media folder. The playcounts are stored in the Library file itself, so there's no other good way of doing that.
