Reliability - Apple Refurbished MBP

Hi all. Quick question - I'm likely going to pick up a refurbished base 2016 15-inch MacBook Pro. This will be a back up machine (I already have an upgraded 2016 MBP) as I have a lot of work this summer and can't afford to be without a computer for even a day.

It likely will never be used but in case I need to use it, I need it to be 100% reliable. Are Apple Refurbished MBPs as reliable as the regular ones? Would be helpful to hear about your experiences before I pick it up. Thanks in advance!

If anything, the refurbs are more reliable. They're tested heavily before going into the refurb channel. New units generally aren't.

Worst case scenario, it's DOA and you'll get a new one. So no cause for concern.

Got a 15" 2016 refurb last week. Loving it so far. Seeing none of the issues reported on these forums *touchwood*. The reduced price made the hole in my pocket appear nicer

Only Apple could say for certain, but refurbs *seem* to be even more reliable than original machines.
