Hi.
I have a pretty substantial wallpaper collection in my pictures folder, so big it is eating away at my internal hdd.

Id like to move the pictures folder to my external hdd, but keep the sidebar link intact.

Does anybody know a way?

I just did a little experiment myself, and it seems that you can put the folder in your Places sidebar, but it will not stay if the disk is ejected. :(

Thing is, I also want to delete the pictures folder from its original location, but when I try, I get a message saying it cannot be deleted because it is need by Mac OS X.

Okay, why don't you make a new folder and dump your wallpapers into there then put that into your external hard drive and add it to your sidebar?

Why not move the Wallpapers to a folder on your external called Wallpapers, then place an alias to Wallpapers in your Pictures folder.

OK.... why not move the wallpapers to the external.

Then create an alias to that folder in your pictures folder.

Then drag that alias to the side-bar.
