I kind of want one for my desk. But i'm not really sure how much I will gain, admittedly it would help the viewing level with my second monitor.

Do you think it has decluttered your desk? I mean not ergonomically but have you actually gained more space? or just the perception of?

the griffin give me a Little more desk space compared to the box
ie. the keyboard can actually go 'under' the laptop

but other then that, only a lil extra space is available.

I don't understand the point of having the second keyboard, which is pretty much exactly the same as the built-in one.

A wireless one is ideal, and a second keyboard allows you the flexibility to position yourself for the best viewing distance for two monitors. You can recline properly in your seat and typing comfort is improved. You don't have to slump over your desk while typing? Anything else?

well, i like having the monitor 'away' from my face
plus, it helps saving my laptop's keyboard life

If i would go thru all that , I would buy a imac.

Ahh, see I considered that but I have to be mobile about 40% of the time. I would get an imac AND a macbook pro but there are too many things to worry about trying to sync. I want my iTunes, Apps, Docs, Movies, Pictures all to be the same on both machines. So a MBP + a Dell 2408WFP + Apple Keyboard + extra MagSafe = work bliss at home and on the road. And I only need to connect 3 plugs to be mobile again..

I want a wireless keyboard and mouse for my MB + external monitor setup (I usually operate in clamshell mode), but I think that I would really miss the number pad. I wish they had not removed the numpad in the new wireless keyboard.

EDIT: I also bought the Griffin Elevator when I got my MB last year, mainly to keep it off the desk and allow a little extra air circulation.

at first, i thought id miss the numpad too
but i dont know about you but for me, i rarely use it and if i do.. then so what.. ill save like 3 seconds of my time?

plus, i got used to the 1-9 numbers in a line and now i actually type faster on that instead of the numpad!
