I was very happy with my old iphone 6S because there wasn't enough space to upgrade, and I saw from my boyfriend's phone that both Maps and reminders had gotten so much worse (I loved the old versions of both, I was devoted to and dependent on the Reminders app. BUT I dropped my beloved 6S in the toilet last week. I upgraded first to an 11, then sent it back (It was way heavier than I wanted, and I liked the home button) and got an 8. But ob both phones, I found the Reminders app really doesn't work at all (Calendars didn't work on the 11 but it works on the 8).

I understood that none of my old reminders from the old app would transfer over. But what's happening is 2 things that are driving me mad:

  1. Old, deleted reminders (some 2 years old) suddenly come popping back up. No matter how many times I permanently delete them, they show back up and I delete them all over again. I tried hard re-start etc but I don't think it's the phone because it happened on both the 8 and 11.
  2. My reminders disappear temporarily every single day. What happens is, I open reminders and it says there are zero reminders for today or scheduled (when I actually had a couple dozen). Then there's a button that says "UPGRADE". There is also a box that says my device needs to be updated to ios 13, however my iPhone was brand new and fully updated, as is this phone. The 8 I am using is running 14.7. So I click the button and it upgrades, then I get "Welcome to Reminders" and I push continue. Eventually, after I do this my reminders reappear, sometimes right away sometimes 20 minutes later. However when I close the app and reopen it, it's the same thing. Says zero reminders and the blue upgrade button is there again. I have to upgrade reminders many times a day just to see my reminders, it doesn't last. It acts as if I'm brand new every time I open it. And of course I don't get reminder notifications.

I know there are some really good reminder apps out there, however, I constantly asked Siri to remind me of things in the car (now 50% of the time I get "You don't have any reminder lists, would you like me to create one?" when I actually have a dozen lists). Are there any other apps that will work with Siri?

I tried many fixes I read about but none have helped so far, including turning off/turning back on cloud settings, hard restart, deleting and reinstalling Reminders, etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

OCNJ
