My 81 year old mom has gotten very forgetful.

I'm looking for a creative solution to leverage her ipad to remind her (and track compliance) for particular tasks (like taking medication / drinking more water, etc.)

It would be great if it could repeat-beep to remind her to complete a task, and then allow her to record that it's done. Ideally, I'd love to be able to check the status via a website or app.

For medications, I got her this web enabled pill box organizer with integrated medical alert device: http://www.medminder.com/ This works great! It texts me if she missed a dose, and records compliance statistics.

There is a nice proprietary and expensive solution for senior optimized tablets: http://www.clariscompanion.com/ . However, I don't want to be an expensive monthly fee, or be locked into their email address and their hardware.

My mom has an android phone and I set repeat alarms for her calendar in gmail/android. This is a great repeat alarm for calendar events in android:

Any clever ideas would be most appreciated.

Thanks,
Mike
